Regarding Comrade Dessie O'Hare's position vis a vis the Good Friday Agreement
23 October 2000

Regarding Comrade Dessie O'Hare's position vis a vis the Good Friday Agreement following articles in both the Irish News and Ireland On Sunday:

Both these articles are scurrilous and typical of the pro agreement press. The Irish News was challenged and sent a correction. It has yet to appear in print, surprise suprise!

In the words of an IRSP Ard Comhairle member:

"Comrade O'Hare's position is exactly the same as the IRSP's, Anti-Agreement but pro conflict resolution, that was what he said in his affidavit. Typical of the pro agreement media that in spite of dead bodies cropping up all over the place, sectarian attacks and intimidation rife that they still refer to the flawed political process and the Good Friday Agreement as the PEACE PROCESS. Political process it may be, but, peace process I doubt it!"

"Ah well its not like journalists to let the truth stand in the way of a good yarn!"

"The IRSP is not in the business of twisting words and their meanings for political expediency... we are only as good as our collective word, political integrity cannot be bought."
