IRSP on Talks with INLA regarding Gino Gallagher's Murder

A meeting took place last evening between representatives of the IRSP and the leadership of the Irish National Liberation Army.

Matters discussed included the current political stalemate and recent murder attacks upon IRSP members.

The INLA reported great dissatisfaction with the current political impasse. They voiced concern at the overtly unionist agenda being pushed by the British Government. The activities of the RUC and British troops in working class Nationalist areas. The threat by Loyalist paramilitaries of a return to inter-communal conflict was also brought up in the discussion.

They informed us that they would be clarifying their position within the coming day.

The IRSP sought clarification on the issue of the recent attacks upon Republican Socialist personnel. The INLA stated that they had fully completed their inquiries into the assassination of Gino Gallagher on January 30th last. They then gave a detailed account of the circumstances leading up to, around and subsequent to Mr. Gallagher's murder.

They identified the source of the weapon, where and when it was bought, who bought it. The instigators and planners of the murder. Who carried the assassination out and where they went afterwards. They totally rejected that there were any rifts within their ranks, and identified two individuals as being those orchestrating the gun attacks.

The INLA voiced grave concern at the motives behind these attacks and questioned the agenda of those behind them. They condemned the attacks upon IRSP members and reaffirmed their support for the politicis and policies of the IRSP.
