IRSP Representatives Speak in Vienna
13 September 1998

Last weekend, two comrades of the Irish Republican Socialist Party (IRSP), Pol Little and Willie Gallagher, spoke on a public meeting in Vienna, organised by the Committee for Anti-imperialist Solidarity. About 100 people attended the meeting, in which the position of the IRSP towards the "Good Friday Agreement" and other questions were discussed.

The IRSP is the only force in Northern Ireland nowadays which combines their struggle for national liberation with the struggle for socialism in Ireland. Therefore, they rejected the so-called "Peace Treaty", which prolongs partition and brings no solution to the social situation in Northern Ireland. Although the IRSP campaigned for a "No" vote, they recognise the will of the nationalist people for an end of armed struggle. The Irish National Liberation Army (INLA), which shares the same political goals as the IRSP, responded to this by declaring a complete ceasefire three weeks ago.

After making our "First contact" with the comrades of the IRSP we will continue to support and promote their struggle through our activity.
