IRSP caution against loyalist attack in north Belfast
11 February 2004

The following is the text of a statement supplied to the Irish Republican Socialist Publicity Bureau

Re: 'Nationalists/Republicans should remain vigilant"- IRSP

The IRSP in north Belfast are cautioning the Republican/nationalist community to remain vigilant following local reports that known UFF/LVF paramilitaries have been cruising Ardoyne and the Oldpark districts in recent weeks.

North Belfast IRSP representative Paul Little said:

"The IRSP are cautioning all residents to be vigilant at all times following local reports that known UFF/LVF men have been spotted in the area in a beige colored car. Given the instability of the UDA coupled with its proven links with British intelligence murder gangs the IRSP believe the general community is very much at risk."

In conclusion the IRSP man said:

"With political uncertainty to the fore at present it is imperative that the local community are alert to the possibility of sectarian attack by those whose only 'politics' are those of the bigot. Inter-community violence offers only death and despair."
