As the 19th of February 2005 fast approaches, the Irish Republican Socialist Party, through its International Department, sends greetings of solidarity to the Organization of Iranian People's Fedaii Guerillas on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the attack on a police station in Siahkal, which initiated a break with the reformist leadership of the Tudeh Party and the blossoming of a new period of socialist armed struggle against the fascist regime of the Shah. From that date in 1979 your organisation marks its real birth in the fire of revolutionary struggle and we salute the martyrs of those days and those who continue forward today in struggle. Having succeeded in toppling that hated regime, only to have victory torn from your hands by the reactionaries who now direct the Islamic Republic, the Organization of Iranian People's Fedaii Guerillas have been fated to wage this struggle all over again. Making matters worse now, the US Imperialists are threatening to extend their policy of aggression, invasion, and occupation from already devastated Iraq on your western border to Iran as well. It is our fervent hope that the Iranian working class is not forced to engage in a war of resistance to a US invasion, but we know if that is the fate that befalls Iran, the Organization of Iranian People's Fedaii Guerillas will again provide leadership to Iranian workers in acts of resistance. Sisters and brothers, fellow workers and revolutionaries, the Irish Republican Socialist Party acknowledges this important anniversary of the Organization of Iranian People's Fedaii Guerillas, applauds your continued commitment to revolutionary struggle, and extends to you our heartfelt solidarity. You victory will bring us nearer to our own liberation, as our struggle serves the interests of Iranian working people as well. We embrace you as comrades in the struggle against international imperialism and our own capitalist class. Down with US and British Imperialism! Down with the Reactionary Theocracy in Iran!
